The Granada, Part 5...The Places In Between

The buildings that make up the Alhambra complex are connected by a series of garden spaces that further the interweaving of Moorish and Andalusian themes. It's not entirely clear the provenance of these garden interventions...some seem relatively new. The high volume of tourists has clearly added the need for some improvements but none are all too conspicuous. All in all the Alhambra is beautifully conceived as a destination and maintained with great care. We were fortunate to visit in the Spring on a cloudy day with intermittent sprinkles...there was a verdant feel to the landscape that I'm guessing will harden off as the Summer heat settles in on the region.
