Stepping Up in Madrid

Madrid is not only grand, but it also sits on rolling topography...gave us a good calf workout as we moved up ad down throughout the city (it feels so good to WALK!). A consequence of all the up and down is the need for steps. And, like the stone paving posted earlier, the steps are not only functional but muy bonito tambien. Stone, steel...even decomposed granite are the materials of choice. Quite inspiring compared to the propensity toward concrete in Southern California.
